This is what our house would look like. We are a small farmer family so we don't have a lot of land to farm, therefore no slaves. All of the farm work would be done by the family.
We chose this picture because it shows what a small farmer's home would look like out in the country.

-Bedrooms (2)
A bedroom was there only for a place to sleep. It is a private room. Nothing else was done is these rooms. They are simply made for sleeping. No friends were allowed in the room. Any "hanging out" was done in the parlor. We have only two bedrooms. One of which is the parents room, another for the children. We chose these pictures because they show what a small farmer's home bedroom would look like. They aren't to fancy but they aren't to shabby either. The parents bedroom is the first picture. The bed is made of wooden frame and ropes to support a thin mattress. The kids bedrooms wasn't the greatest either. They were just wooden planks. -Parlor(1)
The parlor is the place where the men and women gather to talk. The men and women don’t talk about the same things so they divide it into two halves. This works very well for our small farmer. We also use the parlor as our guest bedroom. We have a fold out bed, and a small fireplace.
We chose this picture because it shows almost exactly what our parlor would have looked like. It wasn't blue but this is pretty close. The guest bed was in the parlor. Usually, the adults would share the bed and the kids would sleep on the floor.
-Kitchen-Washroom(1)
The kitchen was usually the messiest room. We did not take time to clean it because nobody went in there except for us when we are cooking.
We combined our kitchen and washroom together. This would save more money. We didn't get to wash our clothes very often. This is probably the least used room.
We chose this picture because it shows just how messy it actually was. There was a small stove, a table to cook on, and shelving.
-Dining Room(1)
We have one dining room, and it is used as our formal and informal dining room. We use our formal for when we have guests. When our guests leave, we have informal meals. Whenever we have guests, we make our dining room formal. This is done by adding a tablecloth to our table. We also add little curtains to the windows. They are not fancy curtains, because we cannot afford fancy ones, such as the ones a wealthy land owner would have. Our formal dining room has a table with no tablecloth and we keep everything very simple.
We chose this picture because it would be easily transformed. If we cleaned up a little bit and added the curtains and tablecloths, it would be nice enough for guests.
-Bathroom(1)
Our bathroom is the place where you go to the bathroom. It is nothing special. It is mostly used when you are working on the fields in a busy day, and you need to use the bathroom. But make sure you don't take too long, because it is cutting out of your work day.
This picture shows the bathroom exacly how it would be. It might be hooked onto the house or storage room for easier access in the winter. It was just two holes in a little shack. The only way it would get cleaned out was by seeping into the ground.
-Storage Room(1)
We have a small storage room. We store tools for the farm in here. We also store spices in the storage room. Nobody goes in this room except for people that want spices to cook with. Also the farmer goes in there almost every morning to get tools he needs for the day.
This picture is a perfect example of a storage room. It has wooden walls and a wooden frame and a stray or hay roof. There are racks and shelves there too. There might be a horse or oxen also tieed up to the wall.
